Moonlight Surrender
The distant stars dance promise in the night,
Taunting me with visions of love’s madness,
Your awaiting embrace grips me so tight,
In the wrong of your oh so right badness.
I walk my days in a midnight dream,
Lost in the perfection of this starlight bliss,
Every whisper turned to a wanting scream,
Needing a moment of lifetimes in your kiss.
The hours pass as the clock testifies in agony,
To the half-hearted smile of joy’s pretender,
The music of my soul yearns for this harmony,
When daylight need becomes moonlight surrender.
