Deep in the Night

Though I would bend all of my patience
To banish your memory from haunting me,
You came to me again deep in the night,
Where you took hold of me.

You whispered of hidden fantasies,
Of temptations and of anxious chastity,
In a captured moment you groaned with passion,
With patience, then explosive immediacy.

You kissed my neck with the gentlest caress
And brought forth deep longing in me,
Pressing your trembling and willing body
Against the shuddering in me.

You refused to become one
With the man growing in me,
From afar you stoked my fire
And breathed life to my fantasy.

“Soon,” you chided, “we will dance
To the rhythm of love’s revelry,
And a kinship made sweeter still
Will explode into reality.”

~ Bartoluciano
