The Gift of Clarity
I was gifted early in life with death.
He came to me and stole from me,
Youth’s treasury of invulnerability.
But he traded deep wisdom and clarity,
For shallow brashness and insecurity.
Banishing from me blindness and blasphemy,
Now I am left a universe of trust and harmony.
Praying for one more gift of antiquity,
To find love and lie in the arms of tranquility.
