Barefoot In The Sand
I pondered today on all of life’s costs,
Of the demands that drive us insane,
Then I thought of the friends I’ve lost,
And how none of those demands remain.
For the things they used to love most,
Where the things that never cost anything,
Things far from a cash flow whipping post,
Like the touching songs we use to sing.
But we all get caught up in this game,
Trying to pay for things we think we need,
Forgetting simplicity seeking grand acclaim,
Losing our child in life’s grown up greed.
So I will ask you to take a moment away,
To let slip the world and it’s shouting demand,
To let peace dance for a minute in your today,
Walk with me a moment, barefoot in the sand.
