Events Calendar

Currently we are planning a number of Poetry Reading and Book Signing dates throughout 2006. See the bottom of this page for tour dates and cities. Exact locations and further details will be added here in the weeks to come.

The scheduled events will be Reading nights or afternoons dedicated to Hope, Love and Romance (no slam poetry, angry rants or dark works allowed). They will be open microphone kind-of events, featuring my work but also that of local poets, writers, singers and other creatives. I will host and share, but I also want to inspire others and hear what they have to say.

We are also planning a number of Adventure Weekends that include poetry readings, wonderful catered meals, extensive physical activities, and plenty of laughter. Typical fees are two to four hundred dollars for the weekend, plus expenses (drop me an email for further details). See the Calendar below for dates and locations.

The Seeking Inspiration Tour 2006 will start in Northern California in January and run through July across the United States.

The Poetry Nights will be about sharing more than just reading, informal venues and close friends. My first editions are handbound and intimate, so I want to share my time with the people that have been touched by my prose. I know, this is very different and unlike traditional Poetry Readings, but that is the way that feels right. So if you want to help, let’s find a cool venue in your area and we can celebrate the arts, reconnecting with a deeper part of ourselves.

A typical reading event might include an brief background on my writing, readings from my first four books, musings and works in progress, a few samples from the great poets, readings and songs by locals, poetry interpretations, special requests from the audience, and a Questions and Answers period. It's a wonderful way to spend an evening or afternoon sharing our hopes, dreams and aspirations.

Come join us and share your talents, or just relax and enjoy the creativity and inspiration. All readings are currently free gatherings dedicated to sharing hope, love and romance.

To be scheduled into the local readings section of an event, send us a copy of the writing that you’d like to share. Otherwise, bring it that night and we will schedule you in. We will be limited by time, though, so submitting early will assure that you are allowed to share during the formal part of the evening. Please limit your works to no more than 500 words, or 5 minutes of reading, speaking or singing.

The tour feels right, without being just about promoting my writing, but but also about sharing and opening up to the love and hope that is out there in the world. Though we will have to work hard to make the tour a sustainable endeavor, I'm sure the most valuable result will be the inspiration and the memories. I trust the money will take care of itself. Donations and book orders are always appreciated!

As far as contracting with the locations, I am asking that they display the event poster or counter card at least 30 days before the event, allow us to sell books and memorabilia at the actual event, and keep a counter display up for at least 30 days after the event (probably something small with the website and free wallet cards displaying some of my poetry).

We now have an extensive press kit, color counter cards and posters for the tour and will provide them free of charge to those interested in helping us book a location. See the Press Room section for more information.

Here is our current MASTER CALENDAR FOR 2006. All poetry reading tour dates are included, as well as all scheduled "adventure weekends".
